A movement? A tradition? An ethos?
I can use several terms to describe my religion. Christian. Protestant. Evangelical. Each is problematic — conflicted, contested, confusing — in its own way. But my most elusive religious identifier is the one on the title of this Substack, the one that’s the most meaningful to me: Pietist.
